What we hope to accomplish

Meet on a regular basis and teach/ learn/ practice the Brazilian martial art of Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Using personal experience, guest instructors and instructional mediums such as CDs, books and DVDs, we can learn a variety of techniques to use in a self-defense situation. Anyone is welcome to attend, teach or just watch. Aside from the practical use of BJJ in a self-defense situation, the work out should satisfy your spirit and body.
Check your ego at the door, and come on in !!!

Currently with ABC

We are going to start a regime and rotate techniques and drills as we move forward. Our goal now is to focus on a few techniques per class, some new and some old, finese the details, learn setups and spend time rolling.

First timers and General Information on Equipment

Information about the classes will be provided when you first show up. Please be aware that you are responsible for your own health and well-being during, and as a result of being in the class.

If you haven't had a physical in awhile, get one or at least check with a doctor about your physical condition. This can be strenuous when we get going.

If you are injured we will call an ambulance if the situation dictates, you will be responsible for the costs. If the inury is minor, sit out a few sessions, do not risk permanent injury for the sake of class.

Please consider buying a Gi if you stay beyond the initial 20 free classes.

Other safety equipment is optional, but you are reponsible for your own injuries.

After 10 classes you will be allowed to roll with another partner who has 10 or more classes. Until this time, you can practice the techniques, observe those who are rolling, work out, or leave.

Equipment needed for first timers:
If you have a GI from another form of martial art, it may work, it may not, but bring it in and try. Otherwise an old pair of BDU's with the buttons and flaps cut off or sewn shut will also work until you decide that you want to stay. The reason you need to cut and sew is so that people you spar with will not catch a small appendage in the opening of a pocket and snap or sprain the appendage. Button might break or catch someone's ear or worse, so please remove them.

A protective cup is not only nice to have, but guys it is only a matter of time before you will regret not having one.

Mouthpiece - Another good piece of equipment to have.

Additional information on where to get a Jiu Jitsu Gi will be provided when you show up, or conduct a search on the web for BJJ and uniform.
